Hamilton Signs Texas Budget Compact
April 20, 2012Rep. Mike Hamilton who is seeking re-election to House District 19 made the following statement regarding the Texas Budget Compact presented by Governor Perry this week:
“I am pleased to have signed Governor Perry’s Texas Budget Compact and look forward to working once again to pass fiscally conservative budgets without raising taxes on hard working Texans. Families and businesses, mine included, have had to rein in spending during these economic times, and we need to continue doing the same thing with our taxpayers’ dollars through the state budgeting process.”
First elected to serve House District 19 in the Texas House in 2002, Hamilton currently serves on the Committee on County Affairs in addition to his role as Chair of the Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures. Rep. Hamilton has been a champion for conservative, pro-business, and pro-family values during his service to District 19. He is past president of the Texas Restaurant Association and has been inducted into the Texas Association of Realtors’ Legislative Hall of Fame.
Owner of the Catfish Kitchen, Hamilton has been in the restaurant business for more than 20 years. He also gives back to the community, providing meals and other assistance through his disaster relief catering service. Hamilton and his wife Terry have been married for 24 years and have four children, all of whom attended local public schools. They are also proud grandparents.
